Object identification is complicated if noises are present in the source data, some of the object parameters change according to unknown laws or the exact number of the object parameters is unknown. In such cases neural network can be applied for dynamic object identification. There are a lot of different types of neural networks that can be used for dy-namic object identification. Among different neural network architectures applicable for dynamic object identification a class of neural networks based on self-organizing maps (SOM) can be noted. In this article, a number of neural networks based on self-organizing maps that can be successfully used for dynamic object identification are described. Unique SOM-based mod-ular neural networks, inspired by mammal's brain cortex studies, with vector quantized associative memory and recurrent self-organizing maps as modules are presented. The structure and algorithms of learning and operation of such SOM-based neural networks are described in details. Some experimental results and comparison with some other neural networks are giv-en.

This paper discusses the development of a software simulator to predict the optimum drying conditions of a bed of cocoa beans in a convective dryer. To achieve this, a suitable mathematical drying model based on the Luikov’s model of heat and mass transfer in a capillary porous medium, were derived, to define the drying behavior of the bed. A heat source term was introduce in the energy equation due to the enzymatic browning reaction in cocoa beans during drying. The result-ing coupled heat and mass transfer equations were discretized using the finite difference method based on the notation of control volume. An algorithm was created to implement this solution into a computer program using a complex of Rapid a p-plication development tools which include Visual Studio, CodeFluent Entities and MATLAB. The algorithm was implemen t-ed in MATLAB 7.12 and was later exported through COM into Visual Basic .NET code for further development of the simu-lator in Visual Studio 2010. A logical model of the database was developed using the Graphical Modeler in CodeFluent Entities and later exported into a physical MS SQL Server database. The simulator will serve as a powerful decision making tool, that will be useful for engineers or operators to develop optimum drying conditions to improve the quality of cocoa beans and the final cocoa products.

The paper presents a new technique for anomaly detection in temporal data. This technique uses Markov chain model to represent a temporal profile of process behavior. The model includes the production rules that specify transition probabilities between process states considering its historical data. Such model has been trained and tested in target process. Therefore, we try to find scarce observations that we consider anomalous. These anomalous observations had the low level of our model support. The model has been tested on Coffee model that is used for benchmarking of anomaly detection tech-niques. The computational experiments showed that this technique can distinguish normal behavior from normal activities in observed process. The value of our technique is the fact that it combines advantages of stochastic and one-class techniques. In this connection such technique can be used in wide range of application areas connected to monitoring and diagnosis of emergency technological situations.

This article deals with an automatic functional programs synthesis problem. We consider the way to apply case-based reasoning approach to program synthesis. In order to use such framework for our problem we have to consider several subproblems: definition of a "similarity" relation over program specifications space, search of the most suitable known program for a given specification and adaptation of a chosen program to new specification. We will consider adaptation method only in this article and leave other subproblems for further work. We can consider the problem of adaptation as a problem of program correction: we have to modify given (chosen in search procedure) program, so that it will satisfy a given specification. There is a method for functional logic program correction, which have a form of conditional term-rewriting systems. So, our idea is to translate a functional program to term-rewriting system and then apply the correction method to it. In this article we will consider procedures of such translation and adaptation of the correction method for our task.

This paper presents approaches to organization of quality control system customized to the process of paperboard manufacturing, using the recycled raw fibers on the basis of the software environment. It introduces an execution algorithm of quality control system in the context of the controlling the process of the starch glue pasting, where the most common quality estimation parameters are taken into account. It explains the expedience of reducing the problem of management of starch glue pasting process to the problem of fuzzy multistage manufacturing process management, where the state evolution of each stage is characterized by a fuzzy relation. Solution of the problem is reduced to the solution of t he functional Bellman equation. For the purposes of the knowledge bases development in connection with the considered subject area the algorithm for constructing of a set of preferred states is applied. Search and choice of optimal solution of the problem as a service is performed by applying a multi-step search alternatives algorithm. Software environment of manufacturing process quality control of paperboard products allows to monitor violations of technological regulations, to identify the causes of actual quality value deviations from value standards, to search and select the optimal variant for the process supporting solution in accordance with the process requirements.

There is a class of products considered as a uniform functional element in equipment. Its reliability indicators aren't normalized. The quality of such devices is estimated according to reclamations. The authors suggest assessing technological level of these products reflecting its reliability according to reclamations based on the probabilities potential distribution device. The paper describes the assessment technique of non-failure operation level of such technical products on the example of rotation converters. The offered method allows estimating a technological level of products and efficiency of increasing their reliability quickly and objectively. Thus, uncertainty of the operation environment behavior is considered. Suggested approach doesn't replace examinations methods, but is more objective since it doesn't demand qualified ex-perts involvement. Therefore, the subjective component of product assessment is excluded. Based on this method it is possible to predict and estimate efficiency of actions for ensuring reliability of a product by comparison of its technological level before introduction.

The article considers the problem of integrating and analyzing knowledge in e-learning. This problem is caused by uncertain terminology, the lack of an unambiguous interpretation and reasonable domain knowledge classification. The author proposes a solution for the problem of constructing a unified domain-based knowledge model. Exploring different solutions in ontological investigation of e-learning has shown that considered ontologies involve conceptual locality and lo-cality in using. Their fragmentary nature does not allow forming the basis of a single model of knowledge. Thus, the author shows the need to develop a domain-specific ontology that fix common for e-learning domain knowledge. This will allow providing logical consistency between separate ontologies when combining. As a result of an ontological analysis, the key e-learning ontology classes are highlighted. They establish a common vocabulary of terms to represent domain knowledge. The paper constructs and proves a taxonomy of ontology classes which represents terms hierarchy on the investment relation. The structure of classes is investigated with links to standards. There is an analysis of classes’ instances. The article indicates perspective ways of development for key classes’ instances of ontology. It also determines the set of interclass relations (object properties) which define semantic domain structure. The author suggests the ways of domain ontology practical applica-tion. The directions for further research are formulated.

Any operating system (OS) includes file management subsystem. Depending of the external memory devices characteristics and storage data conception in OS, data physical organization can impose pecularities on their logical repre-sentation. Based on physical structure a file management subsystem defines a logical structure for interaction with a user di-rectly. Validation of such structures is one of the main tasks in OS testing process. This article describes the difference b e-tween the definitions “data set” of z/OS and “file” of UNIX -like OS. Structure and internal organization of one of the z/OS partitioned data sets – PDSE (Partitioned Data Set Extended) are described. The main PDSE data sets testing issues are iden-tified in the article. Current verifying commands and internal utilities of the z/OS OS are described. The paper shows the analysis of current verifying facilities and main automated testing problems of the PDSE. Function purposes of the existent test cases scenarios and current approaches are analyzed and assumptions about creating automation testing tools to reduce the complexity and increase testing efficiency are made.

The work is devoted to the development of the algorithm of aircraft groups resolution probability determina-tion by radars in an airfield area. It considers tactical requirements for survey airfield radars resolution. The requirements are related to air objects density in an airfield and the need to ensure safety. There are analytical expressions to assess radar resolution on range and azimuth. The paper shows the ways to improve it. Estimating the probability of group air objects resolution is based on analytical expressions. These expressions are ob-tained for possible values of the resolving power in range and azimuth using a resolution probability geometric interpretation and Equiprobable laws of values distribution between aircraft objects and their mutual angular location. The paper considers 6 cases. They are different in range resolving power and a linear resolving power on azimuth with minimum and maximum distances between aircraft objects. The authors obtained analytical expressions to determine resolution probabilities for these cases. The formulas for 3th and 4th cases are new with improved resolution on azimuth in inverse radio synthetic aperture ra-dars. The authors has developed an algorithm to determine group air objects resolution probability and a program in MATLAB 6.5. It is based on the obtained analytical expressions. The authors has obtained dependencies of group air objects resolution probability by a sentinel 5N84AM radar without using and using inverse radar synthetic aperture on distance and observation angle for given parameters: maximum and min-imum distances between aircraft objects, tangential velocity, range resolution and wave length. The article shows that the i n-verse radar synthetic aperture can significantly improve group targets range resolution for low-speed and high-speed air ob-jects at different resolution parameters in range and azimuth as well as observation conditions. The article also shows similar dependencies of group air objects resolution probability for centimeter-wave radars using inverse radio synthetic aperture. There is a comparison of features of centimeter -wave and meter-wave radars depending on group air objects resolution. The developed algorithm can be used to evaluate the capabilities of existing and future radars for group air objects resolution with different resolving power in range and azimuth. It also can be used for proving their parameters to get range and azimuthal portraits for recognition air objects classes and types by a decision -maker when selecting a radar sample comparing alternatives.
