In the present paper we introduce HeO, a new software library of metaheuristic algorithms for hard combinatorial optimization problems. The library is designed as a set of algorithmic skeletons implemented using modern programming, metaprogramming and parallel computing techniques. The results of efficiency testing over SAT problems from the SAT 2007 and SAT 2009 sets are provided.

Development of the program system for automated X-Ray structure analysis from powder diffraction data is reported. The system is based on a new hybrid genetic algorithm of global optimization. As approval suggests, the system allows substantial facilitating and automating the process of crystal structure determination providing highly accurate results.

The article deals with the search scalar function algorithm minimization of many variables with implicit function and interval limitation on variables. The main idea of algorithm, that the least value the function takes at one of the hypeparallelepiped apexes – the area of possible values argument, is in successive bypass of apexes from the initial point to the function decrease. The program algorithm realization is suggested in the MATLAB sphere.

Parallel computing allows for solving large problems much faster and the efficiency metrics are defined and well-known. There are no such metrics or performance models for distributed systems that are becoming more widely spread. In this paper, we address the problem of defining what does it mean a distributed system is efficient or has high performance? We propose a natural extension of a classical analytical performance model to distributed systems.

Models of agents allow to carry out research of various situations which arise in complex dynamic system. 10. Reconstruction of images via variational principle [№4 за 2009 год]

A mathematical approach to reconstruction of images via the following variational principle is described: the reconstruction curve (x(t), y(t)) should minimize length in the space (x, y, ), where  is the angle of slope of the curve. A software in Mathematica system for solving the problem is developed, its output is presented. A parallel algorithm for reconstruction of hidden image via the variational approach is proposed.
