In the present paper we consider the library of algorithmic skeletons MaLLBa, a software tool for the resolution of hard combinatorial optimization problems. The efficiency of sequential and parallel heuristic methods of this library is investigated using MAX-SAT problems from the SAT-02 Challenge Set. The merits and demerits of the library are discussed.

The chemical plant design is the complex engineering problems which includes two stages – the equipment layout and piping design. The architecture of CAD for automated optimal plant layout design and the results of equipment layout and piping design of reforming plant for ammonia synthesis are presented in the article.
